Where I come from is what makes me the person I am today. My name is Said Oubrahim, a native of a small village in the souss Massa region of Southwestern Morocco.
As a rural child, I had to leave home at the age of 6 to study. I had many paths to take but dropping out of school was never an option. My educational journey was a remarkably challenging one given the fact that I was only able to visit my family once a year. Then came the turning point in my life; Joining l’EMINES School to become an Engineer Manager. Throughout these last academic years, I have never lost touch with my origins nor have I ever considered to forget about its people.
My region has the Argan Tree which is known for the Tree of life for the many health benefits it brings. Unfortunately, due to the high level of poverty, the people are forced to sell their products at low prices to merchants and companies. That’s why I came up with a solution to link those farmers to consumers all over the world: Producers will then sell their products at a fair price and consumers will beneficiate from a high quality Argan product.
For decades, people have flocked out of rural towns to the big cities, drawn by the bright lights and the allure of better lives. With EMMYOR, a startup company founded in 2016; I decided to make a positive change in the world.
